What is the PM² group?

Why was the PM² group founded?

The PM² group has been formed to support the European Commission's ambition to disseminate the Project Management Methodology PM² in European Union Institutions, European Agencies, Service Providers, Public Administrations in the Member States, and the European private sector.

What is the PM² group?

We are a not-for-profit membership organization. Our members are project management consultancy and training organizations, PM² user organizations, and also include the examination and certification institute that created the public PM² group certification program.

What does the PM² group do?

PM² group's goal is to facilitate the implementation of the PM² project management methodology in public and private projects as intended by the Center of Excellence in PM² of the European Commission.

The PM² group has set out three main activity areas to achieve this goal:
1. Auditing the supported public certification and trainer accreditation program, based on the EU commission's guidelines.
2. Promoting the adoption of PM² in European public and private organizations
3. Facilitate access to PM² learning materials and certification for individuals who want to increase their employability.

Involved organisations

01.

The European Commission

PM² is a project management methodology developed by the European Commission. The Commission's Center of Excellence in PM² (CoEPM²) maintains and improves the methodology. It also oversees the EU staff certification process. The PM² group supports and audits the public certification of Van Haren, which is equivalent to the certification process of the CoEPM².

02.

Certification organization

Van Haren Learning Solutions has created a certification program based on the internal certification guidelines of the European Commission with the same certification levels for theoretical and practical knowledge. With this program, Van Haren establishes a common understanding of proven skills for each certification level between all professionals, both EU staff and non-EU staff. Both programs have exams with the same covered topics, required level of understanding, number of questions, passing score, and exam time. The Certification Council of the PM² group supports and audits this certification program.

03.

Exam Institute

CertN.global is an independent exam institute that executes the certification program for PM². It manages the PM² group certification program according to the European Commission's guidelines and guarantees a fair and efficient exam process for all candidates.

04.

Accredited training organizations

Accredited training organizations are training organizations that pass the accreditation requirements set out by the PM² group. They provide courses that align with the latest version of the PM² Guide and prepare students to use PM² in real-world projects. Their training also prepares learners for the public PM² group certification program.

05.

Launching partners

Launching partners are membership organizations that have been early contributors to the methodology and the public certification program. They made notable contributions to the PM² group at the beginning of the initiative and received a special reference.

06.

Membership organizations

Members of the PM² group are project management consultancy and training organizations, PM² user organizations, and also include the examination and certification institute that created the PM² group certification program.
